Domingo has over 30 years expertise in the discovery and development of anti-infective drugs. Before joining Ferrer in 2008 as Infectious Diseases Manager and Head of Pharmacology, Toxicology and Safety Pharmacology, he was Director of Drug Discovery Biology at GSK. Whilst at GSK, he led several projects which led to the discovery of first-in-class candidate drugs. Prior to joining GSK, he was at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences, Dept of Defense, Maryland USA. He is the author of over 70 peer reviewed articles in international journals; book chapters; and patent applications. Management Development Program from IE Business School (Madrid) and from IESE Business School (University of Navarra, Spain).
Head of Microbiology & Cell Biology
Degree in Biology, MSc
After obtaining a Degree in Biology from the Pompeu Fabra University of Barcelona (UPC) in 2008, Soraya started working in different laboratories focusing on the pharmaceutical industry, showing excellent skills in processes related to the development of new drugs at the preclinical level. In 2009 she began working at Ferrer Internacional, a multinational environment that has given her a global perspective of business, ease of adaptation to new environments and circumstances and has allowed her to consolidate a solid professional career in the world of drug R&D. Academic training in this sector includes a postgraduate in Animal Tissue and Cell Culture and a Master in Science: Clinical Analysis Laboratory gained in UPF. She also has gained a Cat. C FELASA in use of animals for experimentation and other scientific ends.
Degree in Biochemistry, MSc
Catalina obtained a Degree in Biochemistry from Andrés Bello University (Chile) in 2009. She worked as Researcher in Molecular Microbiology at Andres Bello University laboratories (Chile) (2008-2010) where she studies the regulation mechanism of Salmonella thyphimurium under oxidative stress conditions. During this period, she participated as speaker in several congresses and published two scientific papers. After moving to Barcelona, she worked at Aigües de Barcelona, AGBAR (2012-2014) as Researcher in Microbiology, responsible for certifying the quality and safety of drinking water before she joined ABAC Therapeutics in 2015. Academic training in this sector includes a Master in Biochemistry 2011 gained at Andrés Bello University (Chile) and a Master in Advanced Microbiology 2012 gained at Barcelona University (UB).
Degree in Biology, MSc
Marina obtained a Degree in Biology from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) in 2012. As part of her training those years, she worked in a private laboratory in Barcelona performing detection of Legionella spp in drinking water and moved to Madrid to work at the laboratories of different hospitals (Hospital Clínico San Carlos, Hospital 12 de Octubre, etc.). Between 2015 and until she joined ABAC in 2021 she worked in the Clinical Analysis Laboratories in Hospital Universitario Fundación Jiménez Díaz in Madrid, in departments such as molecular biology, microbiology, flow cytometry, immunology or emergencies, where she acquired a broad vision of hospital work, and the importance of rigor at the time of work for a rapid and rigorous issuance of results. Academic training in this sector includes a Master in Human Biology (2013) gained at Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM) and she has also participated in several courses on Human Medicine, Biology and Human Genetics.
